How does it work?
The modern engine relies upon many sensors within the engine control system to determine how the engine performs and alters its parameters to suit certain conditions, such as; idle, full throttle, and heavy load. These sensor signals are all processed many thousands of times a second by the engine's on board computer which then makes alterations to keep it running at full efficiency. Slight changes we make better use the air and fuel which can dramatically increases both power and torque and because the engine is now operating more efficiently you will need to use less throttle for the same conditions, hence the engine can be more fuel economical too.
Will fuel consumption change immediately ?
Yes, But it can take up to about 500miles for the changes to settle in, after such you should see a marked improvement in your fuel consumption
Will re-mapping invalidate my car's warranty ?
No, its incorrect to think tuning will automatically invalidate your warranty. Also the way we remap vehicles is completely undetectable, all codes and diagnosis that a dealer may read will remain exactly the same. However, this is not the case for the way many others offering this service.
Can modifications be done from a mobile van ?
Yes, this service is available to fleets and can be done at a location of your choice
Can the car be put back to its standard settings ?
Yes, no problem at all, we offer this as part of the Paramount service.

What effect will there be on vehicle emissions?
Because of the very high compression ratio of modern engines, the cylinders contain more air than is needed for normal operating conditions. By slightly increasing the pressure at which the fuel is injected we make better use of ALL the air available which dramatically increases both power and torque. As a consequence of this the engine is operating more efficiently, so less throttle is required for any given set of driving conditions, hence the engine uses less fuel and is both more economical and consequently emits less CO2. So your Diesel tuning provides better power, torque and most important improved MPG and CO2.
Should I tell my insurance company ?
Whilst the upgrade is completely undetectable, the responsible answer to this question has to be yes, your insurance company should be notified.
Its worth noting many insurance companies do not penalise you for engine tuning, this is particularly the case for economy tuning.
Will the life span of engine be reduced ?
No, it enables your engine to develop more power & torque, which are contained within the Vehicle Manufacturers tolerance levels so there is absolutely no possibility of damaging your engine. Think of it as improving engine "efficiency" At Paramount we take great care to ensure all of our modifications have no detrimental effect on your vehicle.
Are plug and play re-maps on E-bay any good ?
There are a number of simple power upgrades available in a plug and play format, whilst some of these items can offer some increase in power, they operate by adjusting a specified signal within the ECU by a set tolerance, they really cannot be compared to a full re-map which measures and re-maps hundreds of signals and data files within the ECU.
