The BMW M3 QUAIFE differential will prevent loss of drive and traction that occurs with a standard BMW M3 differential wheel slips. Whilst requiring some torque in the slipping wheel, the BMW M3 limited slip differential QUAIFE Diff unit is progressive in action but does not lock completely – controlled power is transmitted through the limited slip BMW M3 differential to all the driving wheels. QUAIFE BMW M3 differentials are also used in rear and four wheel drive BMW’s where optimum traction is required. Installation is identical to the normal BMW M3 differential with bearing pre-loads and pinion mesh being restored to the original BMW M3 differential manufacturers’ settings.
Servicing of the Quaife BMW M3 differential unit is simple as all gear pinions are free fitting and normal final drive lubrication oils are retained

Quaife BMW differential – More traction, more speed
As engine power outputs increase even further, the ability to use the extra power and performance becomes even more important. Wheel spin may look great but in reality is it a loss of traction and control, a waste time, uses fuel and tyres whilst going nnowhere! Whether driving on the road, track day circuit, rally stage or drag strip – you need a Quaife BMW differential to give you control and usable power. Fortunately, QUAIFE’s patented Automatic Torque Biasing (ATB) Helical BMW LSD differential is an effective, well-proven, low-cost solution.
As a direct replacement for the standard, factory ‘open’ BMW differential, QUAIFE’s ATB Helical BMW LSD unit can transform the performance of your BMW. Unlike a conventional plate-style BMW limited slip units, QUAIFE’s ATB Helical BME LSD unit relies on gears, rather than clutch plates for its operation.
That means it is much smoother in operation, because unlike a conventional plate-style BMW LSD, it never locks harshly with a set pre-load of wheel slip across the driven axle. Rather, it automatically biases the torque away from the spinning wheel across the axle, to a constantly varying degree and never locks.
To the driver (especially of a front-wheel drive BMW) the results are significant performance improvements; – superior, controllable traction without the harsh steering wheel snatch or torque steer that have long been associated with performance differentials. These traction benefits can also be utilised in rear wheel drive vehicles, while BMW QUAIFE ATB Helical BMW LSD units offer significant traction advantages fitted to the front of four wheel drive cars.
The Quaife BMW differential units are designed using the latest CAD techniques and are CNC machined to ultra-tight tolerances from the very best CORUS steel billets. The completed Quaife BMW differential units are then subject to rigorous in-house inspection on a tri-coordinate measuring machine before being dispatched to the customer.
Such quality means that unlike a conventional plate-style BMW LSD the Quaife BMW differential unit requires no special maintenance or rebuilds, long lasting and it retains the standard method of lubrication, making for an easy, pain-free upgrade.
